My name is Logan McGill, the founder of Race for the Curve. Race for the Curve is an organization that raises money for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. We recruit people to form relay teams for the Dallas White Rock Marathon and fundraise for Scottish Rite.
Scottish Rite is one of the nation’s leading pediatric centers for the treatment of orthopedic conditions. For 90 years, the Hospital has provided the highest quality medical care and patients have always received treatment regardless of the family’s ability to pay. At any given time, the Hospital has more than 15,000 active patients, handles 40,000 outpatient visits each year, performs more than 2,000 surgeries annually, and has served more than 200,000 children since 1921
I was diagnosed with scoliosis in June of 2009 and was lucky to receive treatment for my scoliosis at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. I believe it’s important not only to give back to TSRHC for the treatment I’ve been provided, but also to enable TSRHC to continue to provide its care to all children with orthopedic needs regardless of financial ability to receive such great care.
In Race for the Curve’s inaugural year, 2010, we raised more than $71,000 for TSRHC. We had 50 fundraisers form 10 teams that ran the Dallas White Rock Marathon as part of 5 person relay teams.
We are excited for 2011! Please contact us if you are interested in participating, forming a team or making a donation at firstname.lastname@example.org
